Is Georgia really worth it for luxury travellers from London?

Every time I talk about booking a holiday, my friends throw around the same names – Greece, France, Portugal. But I’m getting bored. I want something fresh, but not “roughing it.” Georgia popped up on my radar, but when I mentioned it, everyone just looked at me funny and said, “Isn’t that some ex-Soviet place?” I’m not against going somewhere unusual, but I’d like some reassurance that it’s possible to experience Georgia in comfort, not just hiking hostels and budget travel. For those of you who’ve gone there from London: is it really worth it as a luxury destination, or am I better off sticking with Italy?

Oh, it’s absolutely worth it, and I had the same doubts before I went. Georgia isn’t just for budget backpackers – it’s surprisingly good at luxury if you know where to look. We did a customised tour through  https://premiumgeorgia.com/  and they handled everything, from boutique hotels with mountain views to private vineyard tours where the winemaker himself poured us tastings. The food is spectacular – imagine a mix of Mediterranean freshness with Middle Eastern spices – and the hospitality is on another level. Flying from London was straightforward, and you don’t feel like you’re “roughing it” at all. I joked with my partner that it felt like Tuscany, but with snow-capped mountains in the background and way fewer tourists.
